EnviroCompliance
Laboratories, Incorporated was established in September, 1989. This step
launched the planning stages of the business strategy. In November, a
laboratory was refurbished in a 400 square foot facility at Hanover Industrial
Park. With a basic complement of equipment, the primary goal was to provide
quality data with the highest degree of service, at competitive pricing.
With extremely
favorable response, the lab quickly outgrew the original facility. In
November 1991, the company moved to a 4,000 square foot bay at the nearby
Lakeridge Industrial Park. This expansion added additional instrumentation
and marked the emergence as a full service lab to assist the environmental
business community.
As growth continued,
the company moved into its present location in February 1992. With a 22,000
square foot warehouse on US Route 1, north of Richmond, the lab had found
ample space for further growth and expansion. Over 5,000 square feet of
lab space was renovated.

Inquiries from
the Hampton Roads area stimulated interest in that region. The distance
prevented the lab from maintaining the high level of service to which
our customers had become accustomed; therefore, a building was located
to house EnviroCompliance Lab's Tidewater Division, and a full-service
lab was opened in the Tidewater Region in March, 1994.
In October of
that year, the purchase of Commonwealth Laboratory enabled EnviroCompliance
to expand into the Shenandoah Valley. January of 1995 also saw the acquisition
of CMI Laboratory in Harrisonburg to further augment the growth in that
area. A new facility was obtained in Verona, north of Staunton, in order
to operate the vastly expanded laboratory. The Valley Division became
fully serviceable in May 1995.
Expansions at
each of the labs has resulted in more than 15,000 square feet of laboratory
space. This included the purchase of Industrial Water Laboratories in
April of 1997.
In August of 1998,
a building was purchased in Lynchburg and a laboratory was established
to provide service in the Central Virginia region. Following in
March of 2001, a building was purchased in Salem and a laboratory was
established to provide service to the Roanake area.
There are five
full-service labs, covering the entire state of Virginia with the capacity
to handle priority work and comprehensive projects. EnviroCompliance has
achieved its extensive growth as a result of the utmost dedication to
superior service.
